Clinton Man Arrested for Dirt Bike Theft in Union County

Daniel Prince

Man had several prior convictions for property crimes

A Clinton man has been arrested in connection with a stolen dirt bike. Back on July 28, Investigator Brad Woods was contacted by Investigator Prather from the Clinton Police Department about a dirt bike they recovered in their jurisdiction that they discovered had been stolen in Union County. Clinton PD arrested 30-year-old Nicholous Eugene Gulledge after a pursuit on the stolen dirt bike, which was recovered the next day. When interviewing Gulledge’s girlfriend, she took investigators to where she assisted Gulledge in stealing the dirt bike, which was 5107 Cross Keys Highway in Union. She said she drove Gulledge in a truck stolen from Laurens County, and Gulledge got out and stole the dirt bike, riding it back to Clinton while she drove the truck back. Investigator Woods contacted the homeowner, who did not realize the bike had been stolen. The owner’s son was contacted to arrange to pick up the bike from the towing company. Gulledge had several prior convictions for property crimes, dating back to 2010, 2013, 2017, and 2021. Gulledge was charged with petit larceny, enhanced. He was arrested on Monday. Bond was set at $10,000, and Gulledge remains at the Union County Detention Center.
