DHEC offers testing in Recreation Department parking lot
City Council Member Pamela Sloss raised a question at the meeting about the location of COVID testing in the county. She said she knew testing could be done by appointment at Lowcountry Urgent Care, but she has heard that some constituents have at times had difficulty getting timely appointments.
WBCU News checked the COVID testing information online at scdhec.gov. DHEC offers drive-thru COVID testing in the parking lot at the Union County Health Department and Union County Recreation Department, at 115 Thomas Street. Swab testing is done Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:30-4, and Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 8:30-5. They ask that you pull to the white A-frame sign in the parking lot and call the number provided to let them know you have arrived for testing. Pre-registration is preferred but not required.
