Government Change Referendum Defeated by Nearly 2-1 Margin

Voters send clear message they want to elect the county's leader

Amid light voter turnout, two important countywide referendum questions were answered in yesterday’s special referendum election. Voters overwhelmingly indicated they prefer the current form of county government rather than changing to a council/administrator form. The final tally was 1980, or 64.45%, for staying with the supervisor form, and 1092, or 35.55%, to change to the administrator form. Ward 4 Box 2 was the only precinct that had more people voting for the administrator form than the supervisor form.
