AT&T fiber optic line cut causes 8-hour outage
The Union County School District reported that a cut fiber optic line somewhere in the upstate caused the district to lose internet service Tuesday afternoon. Within 10 minutes, the district’s technology department had determined the issue to be with Segra, the internet service provider for the district. Segra was working with AT&T to get service restored. AT&T later confirmed the fiber line cut. Service was restored as of 9:40 p.m. Tuesday evening.
