In-person storytime, employment opportunity included in weekly update
In this week’s library update, the Community Food Pantry is now open at the Union County Carnegie Library. The pantry is open during the library’s regular hours, which are Monday through Thursday from 8:30-6, except during the noon hour when they are closed for lunch, and Fridays from 9-3. Library officials emphasize that the pantry is anonymous and free to use. It is stocked with a variety of perishable and nonperishable food items, as well as utensils and hygiene products. To donate items or to learn more, call the library at 427-7140 or email resources@unionlibrary.org.
The library has kicked off in-person story time once again. Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m., parents and young children ages birth to 4 are welcome to come in for stories, crafts, music, and more.
The library issued a reminder that DHEC will be offering another COVID vaccination clinic during this Thursday’s Music on Main event at The Depot, at 119 West Main Street. They will be offering the vaccine from 6:30-8 p.m.
Finally, the Union County Library System is looking to hire a part-time library assistant. The applicant must have a valid driver’s license and be able to work evenings and weekends. The job description and employment application are online at www.unionlibrary.org/employment. Applications may be submitted by email to jobs@unionlibrary.org or in person to the Carnegie Library at 300 East South Street.
