Saturday is Deadline to Redeem Senior Produce Vouchers

Healthy Bucks will increase on SNAP purchases of $5 or more

Union County Farm and Craft Market Manager Elise Ashby wants to remind everyone that this Saturday will be the last day to redeem produce vouchers at the market. The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers for low-income seniors are distributed each summer, and the deadline to use them falls in mid-October.

Ashby also wants everyone to know that starting this Saturday, the Healthy Bucks additional dollars will increase from $10 to $15 on all SNAP purchases of $5 or more. This allows those with SNAP benefits to purchase additional fresh fruits and vegetables at no extra cost to themselves.
