Board to hear updates on Monarch Elementary, capital needs projects, and winter and spring sports
The Union County Board of School Trustees will have their regular monthly meeting tonight at 6:30 in Room 600 of the Union County Career and Technology Center.
After Superintendent Joey Haney gives his updates to the board, the board will recognize some of the Career and Technology Center students. Board Chair Gene Lipsey will then read the Ethical Principles, and the board members will sign them. This is something that is done each January by the school board.
After the board receives the monthly financial report, Dr. Lacresha Byrd will introduce Mickey Connolly, principal of Monarch Elementary School. Connolly will update the board on things happening at Monarch. Director of Maintenance Mark Haney will appear to give an update on Capital Needs Projects in the district. Athletic Director Scott Sherbert will provide the board with an update on winter and spring sports.
An executive session is planned to go over the superintendent’s goals and evaluation, as well as a contractual and a personnel matter. After the session, Personnel Director Jeff Stribble will present an overnight field trip request and the personnel report.
