Maintenance facilities update, athletic capital needs request among agenda items
The Union County School Board of Trustees is set to meet tonight in the multi-purpose room of the Union County Career and Technology Center. An executive session is planned at 6:30 p.m. They will be discussing personnel and contractual matters.
The regular meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. Board member Manning Jeter will present highlights from the School Law Conference he recently attended. Superintendent Joey Haney will present his updates to the board, and there is a student recognition planned. The board will select a voting delegate for the Legislative Advocacy Conference on December 3. Manning Jeter has expressed interest in attending. Dr. Lacresha Byrd will present enrollment numbers as information for the board. She will also provide an overview of the district’s SC Ready and end-of-course exam data. She will also present social studies and science textbooks for adoption. Director of Maintenance Mark Haney will provide an update on facilities to the board. Athletic Director Scott Sherbert will present athletic capital needs to the board. Finance Director Kelly Richardson will give the monthly budget report. Personnel Director Jeff Stribble will present the personnel report and a field trip request for the board’s approval. After that, the meeting will adjourn.
