Jonesville receives grant to clean up mill site; Standard Textile announces facility expansion
There was some positive economic news earlier this year, as the Town of Jonesville announced the town had received a $500,000 grant to clean up the old Wellington Mill site. He said the project would create a park with a green area featuring an ampitheater, covered picnic shelters, and new playground equipment. He also announced the town has entered into an agreement with a developer to build a 60-home green subdivision in the town.
In June, Standard Textile announced an expansion of its facility in Union County, investing more than $15 million and creating 45 new jobs.
