20th Annual Farm Show Scheduled This Saturday

Free event at the fairgrounds enters its 20th year

Saturday will be a busy day, as the 20th-annual Union County Farm Show will be held at the fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission will be free. They will have wood carving, antique tractors, antique cars, a kids zone, hit and miss engines, sawmilling, steam engines, miniature cattle, a quilting and crochet exhibit, an old homestead display, and a corn table. At 10 a.m., they will hold a patriotic moment at the flagpole, followed by a logging demonstration by Ricky Smith. The kids’ pie eating contest will begin at 11 under the picnic shelter. Lunch is available for purchase on site from 11-2. An egg in spoon race will be held across multiple age divisions at 11:30, followed by a water balloon toss at noon, tater sack races at 12:30, an adult pie eating contest at 1, the ugly tractor contest at 1:30, and the popular parade of power featuring all the tractors starting around 2, immediately after the ugly tractor contest.
