Brannon was just months into her new role as director after 21-year career at 911

Union County 911 Director Nikia Brannon passed away on Saturday at the age of 48. Brannon spent 21 years at Union County 911 as a dispatcher, dispatch coordinator, and just a few months ago she was named the 911 Director. She was a cheerleader for telecommunicators, as she coordinated the celebration and recognition of the 911 dispatchers during National Telecommunicators Week. She recently spoke with WBCU News about the importance of their job:

The Union County Sheriff’s Office posted this tribute to Brannon on its Facebook page:
“Nikia was a beloved member of our community, and her passing is a great loss to us all.

During her 21 years at Union County 911, Nikia made significant contributions to our emergency response systems, ensuring that our community was safe and secure. She was dedicated to her work and went above and beyond to serve our community, putting the needs of others first.

Nikia will be greatly missed by her colleagues, friends, and all those who knew her. Her legacy will be long remembered, and she leaves behind a lasting impact on our community.

We offer our deepest sympathies to Nikia's family and friends during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them, and with all who knew and loved Nikia.

Rest in peace, Nikia Brannon. You will be missed.”
