Deadline for both scholarships is June 1st
The application window for two annual scholarships is now open. The Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department’s James H. Hampton Scholarship is awarded each year to a Union County High School or Union Christian Day School senior who lives in the fire department’s service area. They may seek their advanced degree at a technical school, college, or university. Applications are available at Union County High School, Andy’s of Buffalo, the Buffalo Fire Department, or by calling 427-5739. The application deadline is June 1.
The Clemson Extension Family and Community Leaders are again offering their $1000 scholarship. It can be awarded to a graduate of Union County High School or Union Christian Day School, or it can go to an adult that has been in the work force and is going back to school. The scholarship is not available for those attending high school electronically. Scholarship applications are available at the Clemson Extension Office at the fairgrounds on Kirby Street. The application deadline is June 1, and the winner will be notified by July 15.
