22-year-old charged in the robbery
An arrest has been made in the March 24 armed robbery of a 17-year-old on Culbreath Heights in the City of Union. The original release stated that the victim was lured from Greenville to sell items to the suspect. The suspect then pulled a handgun on the victim and took the items. The suspect fled the scene on foot and was unable to be found once police arrived on scene. Pictures of the suspect were acquired. He was described as a black male wearing a red hoodie and armed with a handgun. Two pairs of Yeezy’s and one pair of Jordans were stolen from the victim, along with $520 in cash, which according to the arrest warrant, he forced the victim to send him via Cash App, and then he took the victim’s phone and used Cash App to send himself more money. The shoes were valued at $160.
After investigating, Union Public Safety arrested 22-year-old Daurrell Elijah Grace and charged him with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Grace had previously been convicted of armed robbery and was not supposed to have a firearm. Officers searched Grace’s home on Broad Street and found the gun along with an amount of marijuana. Because of that, Grace was also charged with simple possession of marijuana.
