Items can be dropped off at any Union County branch of Arthur State Bank by August 11
Arthur State Bank is joining with the Union County Library System, the Union County School District, and United Way of the Piedmont for the annual Stuff the Bus event for Union County. United Way will deliver donated school supplies to students who need them. Each summer, United Way of the Piedmont and its partners join with the Union County School District to provide struggling families and their students with the tools needed to succeed during the upcoming school year. The Stuff the Bus program engages local business and individuals in donating school supplies for students in need across Union County.
Shop for the needed supplies and then drop off donations at any Union County branch of Arthur State Bank, or to the Union County Carnegie Library at 300 East South Street, by August 11. Carlisle Oxner III, Chairman of the Board and President of Arthur State Bank, said, “It is our bank’s culture to help the communities we serve. In taking part in the Stuff the Bus program, we want to offset the burden of rising prices and technology needs required by schools for families in our area. We are calling on our community to join us in the fight for education by donating school supplies to the children who need it most.”
They need things like backpacks, #2 pencils, glue sticks, crayons, rulers, blunt-tip scissors, plastic folders, pink wedge erasers, pencil sharpeners, spiral notebooks, notebook paper, 3-ring binders, colored pencils, and washable markers. If you would like, you can also write a friendly, encouraging note to an elementary school student on a 3x5 index card and include it with the donated supplies.
