COVID antibody testing included with all blood donations
While making your list and checking it twice, why not consider giving the gift of life this Christmas season? The Blood Connection has several blood drives scheduled in Union County through the end of the year. Each whole blood donation has the potential to save up to three lives. The blood supply has been low throughout the pandemic, and donations during the holidays are typically low, as well.
The Blood Connection will bring its bloodmobile to the Union County Family YMCA this morning from 7:30-10 a.m. They will then head over to the Walmart parking lot taking donations from noon-5 p.m.
If you can’t make it out to donate blood today, they will be back at Walmart on Christmas Eve, which is Friday, from noon until 5 p.m. They will again be at Walmart on Sunday, December 26, from 2-7 p.m.
Next Thursday, December 30, the bloodmobile will be at Union Medical Center from 9:30 a.m. until noon, and then again at Walmart from 2-7 p.m.
COVID-19 antibody testing is included with all blood donations. The screening tests each donor’s blood to see if it contains antibodies from a natural response and vaccine response.
