Community experiencing severe blood shortage

The Blood Connection will be back at Walmart on Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The community is experiencing a severe blood shortage that will require additional blood donors to help ease. They say without action, the shortage could last several weeks. The hospitals that The Blood Connection serves are seeing an increase in the demand for blood due to an increase in trauma cases and surgeries, many of which were put off during the peak times of the pandemic. Each blood donation has the potential to save three lives. Those who give at Walmart on Friday will receive a $20 eGift card.
