Inflatable colon to bring awareness to colorectal cancer
Union Medical Center will host the Bottom Line Colon Tour tomorrow. A giant inflatable colon will be in front of the hospital tomorrow, Wednesday, March 8, from 10-2. Like last year, the event is to draw attention to colorectal cancer, as March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. The event will highlight the importance of screening for colorectal cancer. You will find out exactly what a gastroenterologist sees when performing a colonoscopy, complete with healthy tissue and polyps of various stages. Learn about colon health, disease prevention, and the importance of screening. They will also have some information on heart disease and stroke prevention. They have events throughout the month of March at many of the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System sites, but it kicks off in Union tomorrow.
