Silk Groove Revue to headline the event at Foster Park
The Union County Chamber of Commerce has announced details for its annual Independence Day celebration, Light up the Lake. It will be held at Foster Park Lake on Monday, July 3, at 6 p.m. As always, it will feature food, a live band, and fireworks after dark. The band this year will be Silk Groove Revue, from Winston-Salem, NC. According to their online biography, they take audiences on a journey through the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and today, recreating the classic vocal harmonies, high-energy choreography, and impressive showmanship of The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Stylistics, The Manhattans, and many more. Food vendors will be selected on a first come basis. An application is available on the Union County Chamber of Commerce’s website at unionsc.com. The vendor fee is $80 including a City of Union business license. For those who already have that license, the fee is $60. Sponsorships are available to help make the event successful. Sponsorship forms and money is due by June 9. Sponsorship levels range from $250-$1000.
