Buffalo Christmas Parade opens the festivities on Sunday
With Thanksgiving coming to an end, the Christmas season officially begins. The first Christmas parade of the season is coming up this Sunday in Buffalo. The parade will begin at 4 p.m. After the parade, the churches in Buffalo will join together for a community Christmas service at the Buffalo Community Center at 6 p.m.
The Union Christmas parade is scheduled for next Friday, December 2nd, at 6 p.m. This year’s theme is “The Polar Express”, and participants are encouraged to decorate in keeping with the theme for a chance to win cash prizes. The Union County Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors unanimously picked WBCU owner, general manager, and morning show host Chris Woodson as this year’s parade marshal.
The Jonesville Christmas Parade is set for Saturday, December 3rd, at 3 p.m. They will have more activities following the parade in the Jonesville Municipal Complex. From 4-5 p.m., they will have pictures with Santa in the cafeteria. From 4:30-5:45, there will be Christmas caroling outside the Town Hall. From 5-6, there will be story time reading in the cafeteria. At 6, there will be a Christmas tree lighting on the front lawn of the Town Hall. Hot cocoa, cookies, and refreshments will be served in the cafeteria following the parade. A prize of $50 will be given for the best float.
Carlisle’s Christmas Parade is set for Saturday, December 10, at 2 p.m. Refreshments will be served at the Carlisle Town Hall following the parade. Those attending are asked to bring a toy for the town’s Christmas toy drive.
The Lockhart Christmas Parade will cap off the season on Sunday, December 11, at 3 p.m.
