City Utilities Director Celebrates First Anniversary

Lance Davis came to the city after working in Spartanburg and Gaffney

At last month’s Union City Council meeting, Utility Director Lance Davis celebrated his one-year work anniversary with the city. Davis was hired in November 2021 to oversee the utility system. WBCU News spoke to Davis recently about his first year on the job, which he said flew by:

Davis earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Clemson University in 2004. He worked for nearly 9 years as a project engineer for S&ME, Inc., in Spartanburg, with jobs after that with CB&I and the Fluor Corporation. Before taking the job with the city, he was construction manager with KCI Technologies, Inc., in Gaffney, for a little more than 4 years.
