More details to come as more counties vote to agree to settlement
Union County Council met briefly Monday afternoon to consider settlement of an opioid-related lawsuit the state is involved in with pharmaceutical companies and distributors. The settlement will not take place until all counties vote to agree to it. County Council voted unanimously to approve the distribution settlement, the Jannsen settlement, and the proposed SC allocation agreement, and authorized Supervisor Frank Hart to execute and submit the agreements on behalf of Union County. Hart said more information will be released on the terms of the settlement after all counties sign on, but said Union County could see some benefits from it:
