County Council to Hold Public Hearing, Regular Meeting Today

Setting tax levy, adopting comprehensive plan among the agenda items

Union County Council will hold a public hearing at 5:15 p.m. today in the Meeting Room at 103 West Main Street. Council will be receiving comments from the public regarding a proposed resolution to set the tax levy for fiscal year 2021-2022. The public is invited to attend.

At 5:30, the regular council meeting will begin. The meeting will be streamed live to the Frank Hart Union County Supervisor Facebook page. Council will recognize the Dixie Youth World Series team. Angela Douglas will discuss a housing assistance program for seniors. Council will discuss the Union County Detention Center renovation and ARPA funds. They will discuss the burn ordinance and refer it to committee. It has already passed two readings but needs to be finalized through the committee process and brought before council for final reading. Council will consider any requests to fill vacant budgeted positions or for capital funds. They will hear from elected officials and department heads.

Council will consider a resolution to set the tax levy for fiscal year 2021-2022. They will hold third and final reading of an ordinance to adopt a comprehensive plan for Union County. Supervisor Frank Hart will give his report, and council will give any committee reports they may have. An executive session is planned to discuss a personnel matter.
