Council will have to figure out how to cover $400,000 budget shortfall
The Union County Council Committee on Administration and Finance will hold a meeting this afternoon at 5:30 p.m. in the Grand Jury Room in the Union County Courthouse to discuss the fiscal year 2024 budget. The public is invited to attend. Council will hear final revenue and expenditure projections, will have a chance to ask any questions they may have, make any additions or cuts to the budget, and discuss how to cover the projected $400,000 budget shortfall. At the beginning of the month, Supervisor Phillip Russell came on WBCU and gave an overview of the proposed budget:

A public hearing and final reading of the budget will come during the June 20 Union County Council meeting.
