Union County is taking bids for the purchase of scrap metal from the county. For an information and bid package, stop by the Union County Public Works office at 1246 South Duncan Bypass, or contact Tiffany Lancaster at 466-4712 or email tjackson@countyofunion.com. Two copies of the bid should be submitted to Union County Public Works at 1246 South Duncan Bypass by 1 p.m. on Monday, May 1. Payment will be due at the time of completion. The winning bidder must remove the metal from county property within five working days after the notice to proceed. Machinery, labor, and transportation must be provided by the awarded vendor. The vendor must meet or exceed all qualifications and specifications to be awarded the bid. The metal is stockpiled on county property at 1651 Jonesville Highway, which is the Highway 18 recycling center.
