Longtime VA Service Officer Cindy Fore will retire, work only part-time to help with transition
Union County has several job openings they are looking to fill. One, as we reported after a recent budget workshop by the county, is for a Veterans Affairs Service Officer. Cindy Fore will be retiring on June 30 after 35 years on the job. She has agreed to help with the transition to the new service officer in a part-time capacity. The job is unique in that it is appointed by the governor. The county is accepting applications and resumés to aid the legislative delegation in making their recommendation to the governor. The hiring salary range for the position is between $34,005-$38,863. The county is also looking to hire a 911 dispatch manager. The job’s general description is that the dispatch manager, under administrative direction, plans, coordinates, and manages the activities of the E-911 communications center, ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of incoming requests for emergency response services, ensures calls are handled in a professional and timely manner and in compliance with all pertinent local, state, and federal regulations, and performs related tasks as required.
