County Road Committee Discusses Taking Roads Into the County System

Daniel Prince

Another meeting is planned to finalize recommendations

Prior to Union County Council's special meeting, the Union County Council Committee on Public Works, Roads, Bridges, and County Property met for a wide-ranging discussion with County Engineer Jerry Brannon and Public Works Director Rusty Snider. They discussed taking in several roads into the county system. They also talked about updating the county road system master list. They also talked about what will need to be included in an updated county road ordinance. They also talked about some needed maintenance at county buildings.

No recommendations were made at the meeting, but they plan to hold another meeting prior to one of the upcoming county council meetings to finalize recommendations to bring to council. We’ll have some details on some of the discussions coming up in future newscasts.
