Council will finalize the budget during work session on May 23
At Tuesday night’s budget workshop, Union County Supervisor Phillip Russell presented council with his complete proposed budget for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. The budget will receive its second reading this coming Tuesday at council’s regular monthly meeting.
In an interview Wednesday morning on WBCU, Supervisor Russell gave an overview of the proposed budget:

Council will deal with how to close that deficit in their finance committee meeting on Tuesday, May 23. During that time, they will ask questions, make changes, and finalize the budget. A public hearing and final reading of the budget will come during the June council meeting on June 20.
