Date Announced for Light Up the Lake

Daniel Prince

Food vendors, sponsors needed

Union County and the Union County Chamber of Commerce are moving forward with plans for this year’s Light Up the Lake event at Foster Park. The Independence Day Celebration will take place on Saturday, July 2, starting at 6 p.m. at Foster Park Lake. Live music will be provided by The Jamie Wright Band again this year. There will be food on hand, as well.

Food vendor applications are being accepted now. You can visit the Chamber of Commerce’s website at unionsc.com and click on the link for 2022 Light Up the Lake to get to the food vendor application. Print out the form, complete it, and return it to the Chamber at 135 West Main Street in Union. The vendor fee is $70, which includes a city business license. If you already have a City of Union Business License, the vendor fee will be $50. If you write a check, make it payable to Union County Chamber of Commerce/Light Up the Lake. Food vendors will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.

They are also looking for sponsorships to help offset the costs of the event, a major portion of which is for the fireworks. Sponsorship information can also be found on the Chamber’s website. Chamber President John Gregory asks that all sponsorship forms be returned to the Chamber no later than June 28th. Sponsorship levels range from $250 to $1000. White sponsorship at $250 gets sponsors recognition on all sponsor banners and podium recognition at the event. Blue sponsors at $500 also get exposure with company logo and link on the Chamber’s social media and website. Red sponsors at $750 also get a 12x24” yard sign advertising their organization positioned around the lake. Stars and Stripes sponsors at $1000 get an individual 3x5’ banner advertising their organization, rather than the smaller yard sign. For more information, call the Union County Chamber of Commerce at 427-9039.
