DHEC, Spartanburg Regional Reopens Mobile Testing Location

Testing offered in Spartanburg at former car dealership

Due to the increase in COVID cases across the area, DHEC and the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is bringing back no-cost COVID testing at the former Spartanburg Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership, located at 1035 North Church Street in Spartanburg. The testing site will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is recommended but not required. To preregister, visit covidtest.dhec.sc.gov.

The site does not use rapid tests, but what is known as PCR, or molecular tests. Specimens are collected by way of a shallow, painless nose swab. Anyone, including children, can be tested. Test results will be sent by email or through the US Postal Service mail. Emailed results should be available within 2-3 days, while postal mail results could take a few days to arrive. If you don’t get your results within 72 hours, call DHEC’s COVID Testing Call Center at 1-888-697-9004, which is open 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Locally, COVID testing is available in the shared parking lot with the Union County Recreation Department at 111 Thomas Street. They will have testing available Monday, Thursday, and Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pull to the white A-frame sign and call the number provided to let them know you have arrived for testing. Please remain in your vehicle. Lowcountry Urgent Care also offers testing through their office at 440 North Duncan Bypass. They are open Monday-Saturday from 8-8 and Sunday from 8-6.
