Environmental Art and Music Festival Returns

Daniel Prince

Festival moves to Main Street April 22-23

The next event coming up is the Environmental Art and Music Festival, set for Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23. The festival will be on Main Street with the hopes that merchants can benefit more from festival attendees. The event focuses on celebrating and sustaining Union County’s natural resources through conservation, preservation, and awareness of all things outdoors. It is hosted by Piedmont Physic Garden. The event began in 2019 but was not held the last two years due to COVID. The festival begins Friday from 5-8 p.m. There will be live music going on, as well as the Main Street Art Stroll, where participating merchants will decorate their windows with themed displays illustrating the festival’s concept, such as displays symbolic of the natural elements of historical Union County, or broader ideas such as sustainability, conservation, recycling, and other things. Each will be judged on the appearance of the display, the connection to the festival’s theme of “Imagine a Sustainable World”, and the overall quality and creativity of the display.

The festival continues Saturday from 10-6 with vendors, food trucks, and live music. For more information on the festival, visit www.piedmontphysicgarden.org, and follow the festival on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
