400 vouchers available to qualifying seniors starting June 1
The RobinHood Group has announced that the Union County Farm and Craft Market is the new 2023 distribution center for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers. The popular program gives low-income seniors five $10 vouchers to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from local authorized farmers’ markets. To be eligible, you must be 60 years old or older on the date of application; be a Union County resident; and meet the household income guidelines of 185% or less of the federal poverty income limit. Applications will be taken in-person at the Union County Farm and Craft Market on June 1 and will continue until all vouchers have been distributed. As in the past, Union County is only being given vouchers for 400 seniors. An applicant can designated an authorized representative to apply on his or her behalf if the senior cannot apply in-person. The representative must present their own photo ID, a copy of the applicant’s ID, and written permission to apply on the senior’s behalf. Vouchers will be distributed the same day as application for those who qualify.
