Applications will be taken starting June 1st
As previously reported on WBCU News, the Union County Farm and Craft Market will be the new 2023 distribution center for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers. Applications will be taken in-person at the Union County Farm and Craft Market on June 1 from 8-noon and will continue until all vouchers have been distributed. As in the past, Union County is only being given vouchers for 400 seniors.
This year, the amount of the vouchers will be increased from a total of $25 to a total of $50, given in the form of five $10 vouchers. To be eligible, you must be 60 years old or older on the date of application; be a Union County resident; present a legal form of identification; and meet the household income guidelines of 185% or less of the federal poverty income limit. For one person in the household, that works out to $25,142 or less in yearly income, or $33,874 or less for a household of two. An applicant can designate an authorized representative to apply on his or her behalf if the senior cannot apply in-person. The representative must present their own photo ID, a copy of the applicant’s ID, and written permission to apply on the senior’s behalf. Vouchers will be distributed the same day as application for those who qualify.
