My Family Reads at Foster Park Elementary will be a drive-through event
Union County First Steps, Union County Library System, Union County Recreation Department, and Union County Schools are partnering to present KidsFest 2022 at Foster Park. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 30, featuring food, games, door prizes, and fun for the whole family. Aside from the main sponsors, the participants will include Union County DSS, Union County Farm & Craft Market, Union County FoodShare, Union Lions Club, United Way of the Piedmont, City of Union Public Safety fire and police, Friends of the Union Library, Health Blue, Jonesville Head Start, Logan’s Snowballs, Miracle League of Union County, SCDHEC Vaccination Mobile, SC Forestry Commission, WIC, and Woodmen Life.
Going on in conjunction with this event is the My Family Reads event at Foster Park Elementary. It will also be going on April 30 from 10-1. It will be a drive-thru event where you can take home books and resources, enter to win gift cards, and sign the pledge to read to your child every day. The first 100 families to attend will receive a $10 gift card to a local restaurant. Every parent who takes the pledge will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of six $50 gift cards to Barnes & Noble. They have a goal of 300 families to sign the pledge to read to their children every day. The event is a partnership between Save the Children, Union County Schools, and the Union County Library System.
