Forged in 4-H Students Thank City Council for Support

Daniel Prince

Students learn how local government works and present council members with things they made

At Tuesday’s Union City Council meeting, Union County 4-H Agent Mark Cathcart brought a group of his 4-H students to the meeting. The purpose was twofold—one was to show them how local government operates, and the second was to thank City Council for its support. Cathcart had requested funding this year for his Forged in 4-H program, teaching the students the principles and practices of blacksmithing. One of his students, 13-year-old Dacey Abruzzino from Enoree, had this to say about the program:

After her presentation, the Forged in 4-H students presented each member of City Council with something they made. The men received a keychain, while the ladies received an infinity bracelet.
