Daniel Prince

45 in all graduate from the statewide economic development training program

After two years of having a single graduate of the SC Economic Development Institute, Union County can boast four graduates of the program this year. A total of 45 state and community leaders graduated from the statewide economic development training program. The institute is jointly run by the SC Department of Commerce and the SC Economic Developers’ Association and is designed to prepare participants with innovative development approaches they can implement in the local community. The highly interactive curriculum allows the participants to have a greater hands-on economic development learning experience. The institute meets for two-day sessions each quarter in various locations across the state.

This year’s graduates from Union County include three members of the Union County Development Board. John Gregory, Dr. Natasha Jeter, and Dr. Randy Lowell all graduated from the institute this year. Union County Schools Superintendent Joey Haney also graduated from the institute.
