Friends of Library Continue Plans for Costume Party

Daniel Prince

Costume party was supposed to be held in conjunction with the now-cancelled literary festival

Despite the festival cancellation, the Friends of the Union County Carnegie Library are continuing plans to host a costume party for ages 18 and older on Friday, March 17, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Main Street Junction. Tickets are $30 each or $50 for two. Each ticket includes membership into the Friends of the Library for 2023. Those attending are asked to dress as a fictional character. They will have music, a costume contest, and a silent auction. There will be a cash wine and beer bar for those over age 21, and heavy hors d’oeuvres will be available. Tickets are available at the Friends on Main Bookstore at the LW Long Community Resource Center Thursdays and Fridays from 10-2. They are also available at the Union County Arts Council office and Smith’s Jewelry Store, both on Main Street. This will be the Friends of the Library’s first social event since COVID forced the postponement of the Roaring ‘20s Spring Tea in March 2020.
