Daniel Prince

Light Up the Lake, Party at the Pond events to bring fireworks to the community

Independence Day is coming up on Monday. All federal and state government offices will be closed. Banks will be closed Monday, as well, and there will be no mail delivery. All Union County government offices will be closed, and all of the recycling centers will be closed, too. Union City Hall will be closed on Monday, also. They will be back open on Tuesday. The Union County Library System will be closed Monday to observe the holiday, as well. Our WBCU offices will also be closed Monday and will be following our on-air holiday schedule, with no birthday contest, no swap and shop, and no gospel hour. We will resume our regular programming on Tuesday.

As a reminder, the Light Up the Lake event will be held at Foster Park Saturday starting at 6 p.m. The Jamie Wright Band will be the featured entertainment. There will be vendors on hand, and the fireworks display will start after dark. Buffalo’s annual Party at the Pond will be Monday starting at 6 p.m. with music, hot dogs, vendors, and more. The Buffalo fireworks display will also be starting after dark Monday night.
