Historic jail will be renovated for use as a welcome center and office space
The Union County Chamber of Commerce has announced the official grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new Union County Sheriff’s Office. The ceremony will take place this morning at 10 a.m. at their new office at 200 East Main Street, the location of the former Wells Fargo Bank. Refreshments will be served at the event.
The historic jail will be renovated and will eventually serve as a welcome center and home for the Union County Tourism Commission. Tourism moved out of 103 West Main Street to make way for Mycoworks, who is using the building for corporate office space. Tourism and Union County Community Development are currently using the top floor of Main Street Junction for their offices.
