Public Safety Department continues to advise residents to lock their cars
Thefts from vehicles are continuing to be reported, though not as often as earlier this year. The Union Public Safety Department continues to remind citizens to lock their vehicle doors and not to store valuables or weapons inside their vehicles. The most recent report states that sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, someone stole a Taurus 856 revolver in a black case with a pink logo from a car on Wilson Street. The woman said when she checked her car Wednesday morning, she noticed a knife she keeps in her glovebox was on her passenger seat. She looked through the glovebox and found the gun had been stolen. Nothing else was taken from the vehicle. The gun was valued at $400. The case was sent to investigations.
