Conversation with an inmate while in prison changed West's life
Healthy U Behavioral Health Services is partnering with the Union County School District and Spartanburg Regional Foundation to bring internationally known motivational speaker and author Damon West to a special family event at the Fairgrounds next Monday from 5-8 p.m. West is a former college quarterback and stockbroker who got into drugs and found himself facing a lengthy prison sentence. While in prison, he had a conversation with an inmate that changed his life. According to his biography at damonwest.org, Damon “learned that, like a coffee bean changing with the application of heat and pressure, he was capable of changing the environment around him. Armed with a program of recovery, a renewed faith, and a miraculous second chance at life, Damon emerged from over seven years of prison a changed man. His story of redemption, grit and determination continues to inspire audiences today.”
Brad Goodale with C-4 Ministries talked about the event at the meeting at Grace Methodist on Tuesday:

In addition to Damon West’s story, they will have face painting, bouncy houses, corn hole, balloon art, music, food, and more. Bring your lawn chairs to the event. Again, it is set for Monday, March 27, from 5-8 p.m. at the Union County Fairgrounds. It will move to the high school in case of rain.
