Homeland Security Investigator to Speak at Republican Women Meeting

Group meets at 708D South Duncan Bypass

The Union County South Carolina Republican Women will have a special guest speaker at their meeting this evening at 6 p.m. It will be held at 708D South Duncan Bypass.

Investigator Jonathan Bastoni, who is Task Force Officer with the Department of Homeland Security, will be the speaker. Bastoni has been with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office for the past 13 years. He served in the Uniform Patrol Division and then moved to the Directed Patrol Unit, where he spent four years working narcotics, gambling, and prostitution cases. In 2016, Investigator Bastoni was selected by then-sheriff Steve Loftis to become the second full-time Human Trafficking Investigator in the state. He is currently assigned as a task force officer with the Department of Homeland Security Office of Investigations, where he works human trafficking cases, trains law enforcement, and works with community agencies to promote awareness of human trafficking issues. To date, he has worked over 75 human trafficking investigations resulting in more than 20 convictions and the identification and recovery of numerous adult and minor victims.
