Autopsy scheduled for Friday in Newberry
The Union County Coroner’s Office sent out a release Wednesday about a hunter who was found dead. The coroner’s office was notified by dispatch around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday of a death in a wooded area on St. Luke’s Road near Tuckertown Road in Union County, south of Carlisle. The man was identified as 68-year-old Charles Michaels. The coroner’s office stated that Michaels was staying in the area and appeared to have been hunting at the time of his death. An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday afternoon at Newberry Pathology Group. No further information is available.
