Ben Ivey and Timika Wilson were on the air Wednesday morning for the second in a series of political forums that WBCU News is hosting in the lead-up to primary election day on Tuesday, June 14. They are both Democratic candidates running for Union County Supervisor, as current Supervisor Frank Hart will not be seeking reelection. The winner will face Republican Phillip Russell in the general election in November.
In his opening statement, Ivey touted his experience and training through his time on Union County Council as qualifications for taking on the added responsibilities of supervisor:

Early voting in the primaries continues from 8:30-5 through Friday at the Union County Election Commission office on South Duncan Bypass in the old Union Chrysler building. The election will be held on Tuesday, June 14. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and stay open until 7 p.m. WBCU News will provide live election coverage that night to bring you the results as they come in.
