September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month. To encourage citizens to sign up for a card and to show pride in already having a library card, the library is holding a contest. Those who sign up for a library card from September 1-30 or who take a selfie with their library card and post it to the library’s social media or email to will be entered for a chance to win a prize bag of goodies or a new Kindle Paperwhite. There is a limit of one entry per person, and entries must be received by October 1.

Meanwhile, the library’s weekly programs continue with Tuesday Storytime Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. Bring out the little ones ages birth to 5 for “Fall Into Fall” with library staff. They will have stories, games, crafts, and fun. Tuesday afternoon will be the Take & Make vs. Make & Take craft event. It is titled, “So You Think You Can Draw?” It will take place from 4-6 at the library. On Thursday, the library will host its virtual event, “Let’s Talk About STEAM: Why Do Apples Turn Brown?” Kelton and Spencer will lead that virtual event, which can be found on the library’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
