Foster Park event set for July 2nd; Buffalo's party will be July 4th
Union County and the Union County Chamber of Commerce are getting ready for this year’s Light Up the Lake event at Foster Park. The Independence Day Celebration will take place this Saturday, July 2, starting at 6 p.m. at Foster Park Lake. Live music will be provided by The Jamie Wright Band again this year. There will be food vendors on hand, as well. As always, the much-anticipated fireworks display will happen shortly after dark. If you’re looking for fireworks on July 4th, you will want to head to the Buffalo Mill Pond for the community’s annual Party at the Pond. The crowd will begin gathering around 6 p.m. to enjoy music with Jared Gardin as the DJ. Hot dogs will be sold to benefit the Teen Center and the Buffalo Fire Department, and a variety of other vendors will be on hand, as well. If you are interested in being a vendor for the event, call Gwen Price at 426-1929 for information. The fireworks display by Jim Maness will go off sometime after dark Monday night.
