Burglary occurred on January 3rd; over $1900 taken
A Union man was arrested in the burglary of the Pinckney Place office at 1300 South Pinckney Street. Back on January 3, PSO Justin Brannon was dispatched to Pinckney Place for the larceny of money. One of the workers there said she was going to place checks and money orders in the bank bag in the drawer of the office when she realized the checks and money orders were missing. The petty cash box was also found to be empty. In all, around $1910 was missing in cash, checks, and money orders. She said the money was all there when she left on December 30, and only two people have access to her office. She and her manager were adamant about having the box and bag fingerprinted, so Brannon contacted investigations to come and do that.
As a result of the investigation, 34-year-old Joshua Jabott Jeter was arrested and charged with 2nd degree burglary and petty larceny. He also faces charges of malicious injury to personal property, trespassing, and another 2nd-degree burglary charge for an incident that occurred on January 17.
