Woman's skull was fractured in the incident
A Union man has been arrested in connection with a domestic incident that took place back in November. According to the arrest warrants, 29-year-old Kendrick Jamal Sims is charged with kidnapping, domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature, and malicious injury to personal property. Sims is accused of striking a woman in the head with a bottle containing an alcoholic beverage, causing a skull fracture. Sims is then accused of denying the woman medical treatment and taking her phone, keeping her from calling for help. He then carried her away against her will in a car, denying her the ability to leave or seek medical attention. That is what led to the kidnapping charge. The woman finally was able to jump out of the vehicle and flee the scene when the vehicle came to a stop at an address on Medical Sciences Drive. Sims is accused of striking another vehicle with the one he was driving while at that location, causing damage to the woman’s vehicle. That led to the malicious injury charge. All this took place back on November 11, 2022. Sims was arrested and book into the Union County Detention Center last Thursday. He was also being held for two probation warrants.
