Man accused of stabbing the mother of his children with a pocketknife and beating her with a shower rod

A Union man is charged with attempted murder in an incident that occurred at an apartment on Park Drive in the City of Union Sunday night. PFC Jamison Taylor responded to Union Medical Center for a stabbing victim. Taylor spoke with medical staff who said the victim came to the ER with several stab wounds to the arm and back. After the victim was treated, Taylor was allowed to speak to the victim. She said at first that her grandmother had dropped her off at the hospital and that she did not know who her attacker was. He left the hospital while the victim was taken for scans to determine further treatment. He came back after she returned to the treatment room in the ER. At that time, the victim stated it was the father of her children who dropped her off at the hospital. She said she had discovered text messages on his phone between him and another female, and she confronted him about it and accused him of cheating on her with the other woman. She said she was beaten in the face and head with a shower rod inside the apartment and then stabbed inside the apartment and inside the vehicle, but she would not name who did it. She was shown a picture of 27-year-old Ahkeem Sharrieff Thompson, and identified him as the father of their two children.

Taylor spoke with an ER nurse who stated that the victim had told her that Thompson had beaten her with a shower rod and stabbed her with a pocket knife. The victim was transported to Spartanburg Medical Center for further treatment.

According to the arrest warrants, Thompson also made threats against the victim and their children. While conducting a search warrant of the apartment, officers found a small plastic bag with a green, leafy substance believed to be marijuana in a dresser drawer in the main bedroom. They also found two water bongs and three plastic grinders in the bedroom. Thompson is charged with attempted murder, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bond was denied on the attempted murder charge, and Thompson remains in the Union County Detention Center.
