Charges include malicious damage, trespassing, resisting arrest, domestic violence, and more
A Union man was arrested by the Union Public Safety Department on multiple charges last Friday. The man was identified as 29-year-old Jordan Lei Riddle. PFC Thomas Willingham was dispatched to Keenan Oaks Apartments, where a woman stated that her ex was at the apartment and had damaged her door. She said she had video footage of Riddle on the premises. She stated Riddle climbed the balcony to get to her apartment. He then damaged the back doorknob and went into the storage closet to retrieve some belongings. Willingham saw glass on the balcony that came from a table that had been damaged, as well. Riddle was charged with malicious damage and trespass after notice in that incident. He is also charged with resisting arrest, as he ran from PFC Hill as he tried to arrest Riddle.
Riddle is also charged in a March incident at the same apartments. He is accused of stealing a box of ADT security products from the porch of his ex-girlfriend. A neighbor had ordered the equipment for her because of the problems she had been having with Riddle, who is her children’s father. The woman was at work when FedEx delivered the package. Footage from a nearby doorbell camera showed Riddle on the property. He was not supposed to be there due to being placed on trespass notice from the property back in January. After further investigation, Riddle was charged with trespassing after notice and petit larceny, enhanced due to prior convictions.
Riddle is also charged with first-degree domestic violence for an incident on April 5. Riddle is accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend at City Park on West Main Street. Sgt. Bryan Shaver spoke with the victim, who stated that Riddle hit her in the face, breaking her prescription glasses and causing a small knot above her right eye. She stated her and Riddle’s two minor children were with her when he hit her. While Shaver was talking to the woman, Riddle called her and told her he had called the police on her. Shaver asked which officer responded, and Riddle told him that PFC Willingham did. Shaver told him that was not true, since Willingham was off that day. He told Riddle not to harass the woman. Riddle would not come to Public Safety Headquarters because he knew he had outstanding warrants. Riddle was charged with first-degree domestic violence, and the Office of Probation, Pardon, and Parole issued a probation violation on Riddle, as well.
The next day, Riddle was charged with resisting arrest, as he ran from PFC Hill as he attempted to arrest him. Riddle ran into the woods, and officers could not find him, even after a K-9 unit responded to the scene.
Riddle was arrested last Friday and charged in all these cases. The total amount of bond set on the charges is $97,125. Riddle remains in the Union County Detention Center.
