Dinner sale will benefit the Marisha Sharay Jeter Scholarship Foundation
The annual Marisha Sharay Jeter dinner sale is coming up this Sunday, October 23. The annual meal is a fundraiser for the Marisha Sharay Jeter Scholarship Foundation, which Jeter’s family established following her murder at the age of 16 back in 2008.
The annual dinner sale is held at the home of her parents, Manning and Maretta Jeter, at 409 South Church Street. They will begin serving at 1 p.m. and will go until the food is gone. There will be a choice of ham, turkey, or chicken, and a choice of three sides, with rice and gravy, dressing, green beans, and macaroni and cheese, along with a dinner roll and a drink. The cost for a plate is $8, and it will be $1 for extra meat. I
n addition to the food, they will have a bouncy house for the kids, as well as a candy shower. Bags will be available. You can call your order in early to Maretta Jeter at 441-8886. In addition to the dinner sale, the family hosts a yearly cheer camp and youth gospel choir competition to raise money for the foundation, which awards scholarships to senior girls looking to further their education.
