Michelin's event is September 2nd; Cooper Standard's will be September 8th
There are a couple of hiring events coming up. Michelin is planning a job fair this Friday, September 2, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It will be held at Spartanburg Community College’s Downtown Campus at 220 East Kennedy Street. They are looking for production operators to join the world’s #1 tire brand at its Spartanburg location. Starting pay is $19.84 an hour plus a $2/hour rotation shift premium and a potential $1500 sign-on bonus. The job includes paid vacation and holidays. Benefits from the first day include health and life insurance, 401(k), on-site clinic, and gym. Forbes magazine lists Michelin as one of America’s Best Large Employers. Their goal is to fill at least 40% of any open salaried positions by promoting employees from its wage workforce.
In addition, Cooper Standard is planning a hiring event at the TK Gregg Center at 650 Howard Street in Spartanburg, on Thursday, September 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The company is hiring automotive manufacturing associates for its climate-controlled Spartanburg production facility. These are direct hire positions on 2nd and 3rd shifts. The schedule is five 8-hour days per week with some overtime hours as needed. Starting pay is $18.70 an hour. Their benefits package includes 4 medical plans, 2 dental plans, free life insurance, 12 paid holidays, paid vacation, 401(k) plan with match, and tuition assistance.
